Hello,my company is currently evaluating Windows Vista. Unfortunately for several reasons we needed to turn off UAC. We did this via Group Policy.We're experiencing at least 2 problems now:1.) when a standard user opens Task Manager and clicks on "Show processes from all users" nothing happens. It look like Task Manager is closing an re-opening but user can see only his processes.2.) when a standard user opens Task Manager and clicks on "Performance" -> "Resource Monitor" the error: "Requested operation requires elevation" appears. How could that be, since UAC is turned off?Please, don't get me wrong, I don't want to discuss, why we disabled UAC, i'm just wondering, why the above problems happen and how me can manage this.Thanks in advance for your comments

Hi maxell32, I consider this is caused by permission issue. Standard user does not have sufficient permission to show/close other user's processes or critical system processes. Standard user cannot run Resource Monitor either due to permission either. In order to do these, we need to give the user administrator permission(resource monitor can be run under power user). Hi, thanks for you reply.sorry, I forgot to write, that all of our Domain-Users are already member of the "Power-User" Group. As I know from Windows XP, a user can see all processes from other users (also "system"), but can't terminate them.That is, what we want. The user should just have the permission to view all processes.How can an user be permitted to do this?

I suggest you disable UAC via Control Panel User Account Turn User Account Control on or off Uncheck the checkbox "Use User Account Control to help protect your computer". Then, press OK and restart the computer. In this way, it should work while logging on as Power User. Meanwhile, I'd like to inform you that if the user is not a member of the local administrator's group the option "show processes from all users" will not be available.
